What services do you offer for dogs?

We provide dog daycare, enrichment activities, socialisation, and plenty of love and care throughout the day.

Do you cater to all breeds and sizes of dogs?

We sre happy to take dog breeds, excluding those on the banned breeds list. 

What qualifications do your staff have for working with dogs?

Our staff includes experienced dog handlers trained in canine behaviour, first aid, and positive reinforcement techniques. If you'd like to see our team's qualifications, you can meet the team here.​

 

Is my dog supervised at all times?

Absolutely. Dogs are monitored at all times to ensure their safety and well-being.

How do you ensure the safety of the dogs?

We use secure facilities, conduct temperament assessments, and maintain high staff-to-dog ratios for close supervision.

What is your approach to handling dogs with behavioral issues?

We will work closely with you, your trainer (if you have one), to create a comfortable and consistent environment for your dog. We use positive reinforcement and tailor interactions to suit each dog’s needs, ensuring a stress-free experience. We also work closely with the Ipswich Dog Trainer to ensure our staff are current on legislation and appropriate methods.

Can I tour the facility before enrolling my dog?

Yes, we’d be happy to show you around and encourage you to visit ahead of booking a session. Contact us to schedule a visit.​

What is a typical day like for the dogs?

Dogs enjoy playtime, enrichment activities, grooming if your dog likes it, rest periods, and plenty of interaction with both staff and other dogs.

What should I bring when dropping off my dog?

Bring your dog’s food (if needed), any comfort items, and their vaccination records if not already provided.

 

What is the purpose of the social care program?

Our program provides meaningful interactions with dogs to support individuals with low mental health, learning disabilities, or autism.

Do participants need to have prior experience with dogs?

No prior experience is required. We tailor the program to each individual’s comfort level and needs.

Are staff trained to work with people with additional needs?

Yes, our staff are trained in mental health support, neurodiversity, and adaptive communication techniques. If you'd like to see more about our staff qualifications, you can meet the team here.

How do you ensure the environment is safe for participants?

We maintain a calm and controlled environment, with trained staff supervising all interactions between participants and dogs.

What activities are included in the program?

Activities include walking, grooming, playing with dogs, and learning about their care, all designed to be therapeutic and engaging.

Is there a cost for the social care program?

How do I sign up or refer someone to the program?

To refer yourself or someone else, get in touch with us here.

Can participants bring their own support worker or carer?

Yes, participants are more than welcome to bring their support worker or carer as needed, but we also have support available on-site through our team members. 

How do the dogs and members interact during the sessions?

Interactions include guided play, grooming, and walking, all under staff supervision to ensure safety and comfort of both the dog and member

What benefits do participants gain from interacting with the dogs?

Participants may experience reduced stress, increased confidence, improved social skills, and a sense of purpose.

How do you ensure the dogs are comfortable with the participants?

We use temperament-tested dogs and provide gradual introductions to ensure positive experiences for both dogs and participants.

 

Can participants choose which dog they want to interact with?

Yes, where possible, participants can choose dogs they feel most comfortable with or drawn to.

What types of activities do participants do with the dogs?

Activities include playing, teaching simple tricks, brushing, feeding and general bonding time

How do you handle situations where a participant or dog feels overwhelmed?

We monitor all interactions closely and provide breaks or alternative activities if either party shows signs of stress. Our designated quiet areas are perfect for time outs or helping dogs and members de-stress. On the rare occasion that a dog feels overwhelmed by a member, we will pause the interaction with immediate effect and review. 

Are there any rules participants must follow when interacting with dogs?

Yes, we teach participants gentle handling techniques and provide clear guidelines to ensure safe and respectful interactions.
